Addiction can quietly take hold, gradually affecting your mental health, relationships, and daily life. It is often misunderstood as simply a lack of willpower, but in reality, addiction is a complex psychological condition that can develop from emotional pain, trauma, stress, or deep-rooted behavioural patterns. Whether the struggle is with alcohol, drugs, gambling, or another compulsive behaviour, it can feel isolating and overwhelming - but it doesn’t have to be faced alone.
As a professionally qualified addiction counsellor and psychotherapist, I work with individuals across London, Surrey, and online to help them understand the roots of their addiction and develop healthier, more sustainable ways of coping. My name is Marcus Scutt, and at Let’s Find Calm, I provide a safe and confidential space where clients are met with compassion, not judgment.

Addiction is never just about the substance or behaviour. It’s about the emotional story underneath - the trauma, anxiety, or unresolved conflict that drives the compulsive need to escape or self-soothe. Through personalised therapy sessions, I support clients in exploring these deeper issues while also working on the practical challenges of recovery.

My integrative approach combines psychodynamic insight with structured tools for behavioural change, empowering clients to rebuild self-esteem, develop emotional resilience, and create a life beyond addiction.
If you are struggling with addiction or supporting someone who is, know that meaningful recovery is possible. Therapy is a powerful step toward lasting change—not just in behaviour, but in the way you view yourself and your future.

You're not broken, and you’re not alone. Reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see how I can help you or a loved one move forward with clarity, calm, and confidence.
